BIBLICAL FACT ABOUT MILK AND HONEY
The term “milk and honey” goes way back to the times of antiquity? The Bible mentions “a land flowing with milk and honey” (or land of milk and honey), signifying prosperity and abundance in several scriptures as Exodus 3:8, 17; Leviticus 20:24 and Deuteronomy 26:9. The Bible also indicates that they were part of the everyday diet of the Israelites, used in cooking and also used as cosmetics. Even Queen Cleopatra of Egypt, as legend has it, used milk and honey regularly, and she attributed them to keeping her skin youthful and healthy. She used to mix honey and milk in the bath, which enabled her to maintain soft and beautiful skin. For thousands of years, milk has been known to benefit our skin, by helping us maintain a fair and smooth complexion. Therefore, milk and milk products are used in a number of cosmetic preparations to this day! Isn’t it interesting that milk and honey are often mentioned together? But why is that the case?
